As this academic year draws to a close for schools across England, we want to thank teachers for once again going above and beyond to support students in what has been another year of uncertainty.

For us at CENTURY, it's been a very eventful year. From building a brilliant community of like-minded teachers to launching in new countries, here's a quick overview of some of the exciting changes that have happened at CENTURY since September 2021.

Engagement on CENTURY has climbed

This academic year, learners on our teaching and learning platform have:

  • Answered 173,894,656 questions
  • Completed 17,941,004 micro-lessons

We have expanded globally

CENTURY is now used by schools in 50 countries worldwide! From the British School Salalah and British School Muscat in Oman using CENTURY to help implement their successful new iGCSE curriculum FlexEd, to International School Neustadt in Germany using our adaptive platform to support new learners coming from different curricula, we are honoured to be helping innovative international schools across the world to reach their unique teaching and learning goals.

We launched the CENTURY Ambassador Network

The Ambassador Network is a community of over 100 teachers who are passionate about using edtech to improve learning outcomes. To date, we have organised nine ambassador events, including expert guest speakers such as eminent historian and educationalist Sir Anthony Seldon, and hosted product roundtable events to discuss our ambassadors' feedback on CENTURY and how we can enhance the platform.

We were named as EdTech Impact's Top Product

We were named Top Product in EdTech Impact's Summer 2022 Awards, based on independent, verified reviews from teachers. Take a look at a couple of our five-star reviews:

We released the CENTURY Resource Hub

We added the Resource Hub to our website, where teachers can access a bank of free high-quality materials, all created by our inhouse team of former teachers and designers.

These include posters, exam paper analyses, assessments, reading comprehension texts and activity packs, and we plan to add more resources over summer.

Our science content was awarded the ASE Green Tick

Our secondary science courses were recently awarded the ASE Green Tick by The Association for Science Education. Here are a couple of the things ASE Evaluators liked about our content:

  • "The assessments, because of the carefully written, high-quality questions. Learning nuggets are always followed by at least ten questions that are perfectly accessible for the target audience."
  • "The videos, because the content is good, they are well-written and produced, explanations are very thorough, and they convey concepts well. One evaluator reported a sense that the author is teaching for understanding rather than just ticking boxes."

We were a Gold Winner at The Learning Technologies Awards

We were named a Gold Winner at the Learning Technologies Awards for 'Best Use of Learning Data Analytics to Impact Learner and Business Performance'. The awards recognise the commitment, enthusiasm and passion for learning technologies across the world.

We were recognised for our joint project with Ufi VocTech Trust, which supports the delivery of vocational skills through digital technology. The project had a direct impact on the learners who took part - after just a few months of using CENTURY, GCSE resit pass rates at Basingstoke College of Technology increased by 9 per cent for English and 21 per cent for maths compared with the previous year.

Our Partnership with ISEB

We recently announced the formation of a long-term strategic partnership with the Independent Schools Examinations Board (ISEB) - the leading provider of examinations and assessments for pupils transitioning from prep and junior schools to senior schools, including the 11+ and 13+ Common Entrance (CE) assessments.
