CENTURY has been a pioneer of AI in education since 2013. Our proprietary platform, built by a team of technologists, teachers and neuroscientists with students and educators in mind, leverages cutting-edge technology to create a truly personalised learning experience for every student and rich data insights to teachers.
How is CENTURY’s AI different?
Many companies use AI in their products to support teachers and students, either in the form of large language model agents such as Chat GPT that are not purpose-built for education, or adaptive algorithms that can personalise learning only to a limited degree.
CENTURY has pioneered a unique approach that reflects our belief that any platform for education must combine state-of-the-art technology with strong pedagogy. Our AI system is built, hosted and trained in-house on billions of rich, real-world learning interactions from students across the world as they engage with expertly designed educational materials, providing a uniquely informed foundation for teaching and learning.
How does it work?
At the heart of CENTURY’s platform is our recommendations engine that builds an understanding of what a learner knows and what they do not know, which in turn enables it to recommend what a learner should study next.
The three main components that inform it are content knowledge graphs, user activity graphs and a knowledge tracing model.
The content knowledge graph captures the relationships between micro-lessons, subtopics and topics and helps define how learning content is connected. This gives us granular insights into the complexity of how micro-lessons build on top of each other, allowing learners to be guided to see relevant content quicker.
