Homework

CENTURY makes it easy to set homework from a library of teacher-made resources to individual students or a whole class. Work is automatically marked and students receive instant personalised feedback with tips on how to improve.

The Smart Assignments feature allows you to set personalised homework for the whole term with just a few clicks.

Lesson planning

Use the data insights to track pupil performance and make decisions on what to teach next. The CENTURY platform can be used in various ways within your classroom, from flipped and blended learning to independent study.

Save time on resource creation with our library of high-quality learning content, or experiment with time-saving features within the CENTURY Labs area.

Exam revision

CENTURY makes it simple for students to revise their learning both through independent study and teacher-directed activities.

The adaptive Recommended Pathway on CENTURY acts as a personalised revision plan for every student. As students complete work, they receive questions designed for exam practice and feedback on how to improve.

Cover lessons and PPA

Ensure your students are on track even when you're not there.

With CENTURY you can quickly and easily set work for cover lessons that keeps students engaged and challenged. The learning content, along with questions, allows all students to complete work without getting stuck.

Parent engagement

Empower parents and guardians with information to support their child's learning. Share a student's performance at parents' evening or through the Guardian Portal to help parents understand which areas their child needs to focus on.

Intervention groups

Use CENTURY in your intervention groups to quickly identify learning gaps and misconceptions. CENTURY will then create individual learning pathways for each student so they can focus on their key areas for improvement.

CENTURY’s library of learning resources supports non-subject specialist staff, and access to a range of high-quality resources covering the KS1-4 curriculum helps to close gaps from any missed learning.

Why international schools love CENTURY

CENTURY stood out to us because it combines adaptive technology with high-quality pedagogy. It supports our focus on responsive teaching and gives students the tools to make their own progress visible. For us, it aligned perfectly with our priorities: high impact teaching linked to deep learning, smart use of data, and developing metacognitive learners.

Leigh Holmes-Hill, Deputy Head Teacher

Tenby International School Ipoh

When I talk to parents and teachers about the platform in my role as headteacher, I emphasise the role of differentiation and about the personalised learning journey. It allows students to be empowered. We’re not scared of students learning things asynchronously in a different sequence, because they can cover concepts in depth with us. It’s a much deeper learning journey when they’re revisiting something that they’ve explored on their own. So I think it’s a very positive tool to be able to talk to families about differentiation, particularly, and as an IB school, it’s perfect.

Jennifer Tickle, Principal

International School of Siena (Inspired)

Our school values AI-driven personalised learning to support student progress. All this, we can find it on the CENTURY platform, in addition to the alignment of the IB framework with MYP objectives into CENTURY’s Learning Path, and it helped us also to individualise learning targets for our students.

Nadine Baki, IB and AI coordinator

Dar Al Marefa School

We use the platform in a variety of ways and have really seen an impact in terms of homework. It doesn’t require any marking by teachers, and the dashboards make it very easy to see how students have progressed. The students are super invested, because they saw their results go up from last year. They enjoy using it, but especially now they see the impact on their own results, they are really motivated, which is marvellous.

Kate Plumb, Vice Principal

Aspen Heights British School (ISP)

We spend a lot of time searching for resources that challenge students, especially problem solving questions that are presented in language that EAL students can cope with. CENTURY is more supportive than a worksheet and students can be supported in a better way

Katie Roebuck, Head of Primary School

Invictus International School

This year alone, we had nearly 2 million questions answered on CENTURY… Previously, I would have spent about an hour per class every week on homework assignments – about four or five hours in total. Now, I spend about 30 minutes on data analysis every week in total, so that’s nearly four or five hours saved. It has been amazing for reducing workloads.

Edel Quigley, Science Lead Practitioner

School of Research Science

CENTURY’s personalised learning pathways and rich content complement our inquiry-based approach, offering students the opportunity to learn at their own pace, receive targeted support, and develop a deeper understanding of key concepts, while freeing teachers to focus on facilitating engaging learning experiences.

FAQs

How does CENTURY use AI?

CENTURY’s main functionality within the Recommended Path and the data dashboards leverages cutting-edge, proprietary non-generative AI technology. These AI models analyse previous performance on CENTURY to identify strengths, gaps in knowledge and misconceptions, using this analysis to predict how a student performs next. These predictions are in turn used to make personalised recommendations on what they should study next.

CENTURY incorporates rules alongside the AI model predictions to ensure that recommendations are appropriate and beneficial. These rules include specific boundaries to avoid potential bias and ensure recommendations are fair and effective for all students.

This AI system is built, hosted and trained in-house on billions of rich, real-world learning interactions from students around the world. As a result, CENTURY’s recommendation system is uniquely informed for teaching and learning.

Does CENTURY use generative AI?

CENTURY also offers optional features which use generative AI technology, also known as Large Language Models, or LLMs. All CENTURY features which use generative AI have ‘GENai’ in their name, so that it is easy for teachers to identify them. In these features, CENTURY uses an externally created LLM (for example, OpenAI models) for particular aspects of the tool, but we add our own guardrails on top of this to ensure safety and reliability. CENTURY does not send student or teacher personal information to the LLM.

Some of these features allow students to input text which is then shared with the LLM. Students cannot use these tools unless a teacher approves their access. All text added by students can be seen by teachers, and we have specific safeguarding processes built in. There is no conversational interface for the student to interact with the LLM directly.
