CENTURY x Hales Valley Trust Maths Competition Winners
Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Hales Valley Trust have been CENTURY stalwarts for nearly six years now, using the platform as part of their homework strategy or in class. We wanted to celebrate the trust’s amazing work of embedding CENTURY. The trust therefore ran a maths competition, asking pupils from across six primary schools to estimate how many maths questions had been answered on the platform in the last six years.
The winner was Year 4 student, Sarah, at Lapal Primary School, who was very close to the incredible total of 4,263,193 questions.
Paul Leahy, UK Partnerships Manager (Midlands) led an assembly at Lapal Primary School to present the winner with a £50 book voucher whilst top users were presented with goody bags. The teacher who’d set the most nuggets was presented with Paul’s CENTURY t-shirt (washed of course!).
“We were delighted to welcome Paul to lead an assembly at Lapal Primary School to announce us as the winners of the CENTURY competition. One of our Key Stage 2 pupils correctly guessed how many maths questions had been answered by all of the children at Hales Valley Trust’s schools – winning a fantastic prize.
CENTURY has helped Lapal teachers make effective interventions to improve children’s performance – it was wonderful to celebrate this partnership during Paul’s visit.”
Matt Maynes, Assistant Head of School, Lapal Primary School, Hales Valley Multi Academy Trust.
