Initial assessments and diagnostics
Use our adaptive initial assessment tool to quickly determine which level learners should be working towards, and then go deeper with CENTURY’s diagnostic assessments.

The adaptive Recommended Path on CENTURY acts as a personalised revision plan for every learner. As learners complete work, they receive questions designed for GCSE and Functional Skills practice and feedback on how to improve.
Data integration
Connect API is an easy to use API tool for external teams that allows MISs, ePortfolios or your internal systems to seamlessly pull data from CENTURY. It facilitates immediate onboarding and assessment of new starters and saves hours of administration time as well as allowing easier access to analysis and data insights.
CENTURY automatically integrates with Aptem, eSuite, OneFile and Tribal products, with additional integration partners on the imminent roadmap.
Independent learning
CENTURY is great for developing independent learners and is proven to increase learner engagement.
Learners can work on their skills and areas for improvement by following their Recommended Paths. They can study at a time that suits them on any internet-connected device. The user-friendly interface and bite-sized learning materials on CENTURY help learners improve through consistent, structured practice over time.

Why FE colleges love CENTURY
Looking at our historical progress, in 2022-23, English progress was 0.23 and maths was 0.09. In the last academic year, where we actively drove CENTURY’s use, English jumped to 0.38 and maths to 0.27. This is a massive improvement for an FE college in the northeast. This data is a clear indicator that if you’re using the platform, you’re making progress.
This year, I’ve noticed a significant increase in engagement from our adult learners, particularly those studying English and Maths Functional Skills. It’s a contrast to last year when we didn’t use CENTURY and saw engagement levels drop. Many of these learners come from external study groups, such as those studying at a local hospital. The platform has really helped them to refresh their understanding and discover both what they need to improve on and what they are actually good at.
The impact on learners has been very positive. They understand why they are using CENTURY and can see their own strengths and gaps, which makes the learning feel much more personalised. This is especially important for students who may lack confidence in English and maths; seeing their own progress gives them the drive to keep going. The vast majority of our learners are very positive about how the platform works.
[With CENTURY], we've received a lot more work from the students than we would have previously. For a small team of 10 staff to achieve this would have been nigh on impossible: to convert worksheets into questionnaires, mark them and deliver the amount of feedback that CENTURY can do. Everything students do on CENTURY is on top of what we were doing before. This year alone students have done 23 days of extra English and a month and a half of extra maths on CENTURY
FAQs
CENTURY’s main functionality within the Recommended Path and the data dashboards leverages cutting-edge, proprietary non-generative AI technology. These AI models analyse previous performance on CENTURY to identify strengths, gaps in knowledge and misconceptions, using this analysis to predict how a student performs next. These predictions are in turn used to make personalised recommendations on what they should study next.
CENTURY incorporates rules alongside the AI model predictions to ensure that recommendations are appropriate and beneficial. These rules include specific boundaries to avoid potential bias and ensure recommendations are fair and effective for all students.
This AI system is built, hosted and trained in-house on billions of rich, real-world learning interactions from students around the world. As a result, CENTURY’s recommendation system is uniquely informed for teaching and learning.
CENTURY also offers optional features which use generative AI technology, also known as Large Language Models, or LLMs. All CENTURY features which use generative AI have ‘GENai’ in their name, so that it is easy for teachers to identify them. In these features, CENTURY uses an externally created LLM (for example, OpenAI models) for particular aspects of the tool, but we add our own guardrails on top of this to ensure safety and reliability. CENTURY does not send student or teacher personal information to the LLM.
Some of these features allow students to input text which is then shared with the LLM. Students cannot use these tools unless a teacher approves their access. All text added by students can be seen by teachers, and we have specific safeguarding processes built in. There is no conversational interface for the student to interact with the LLM directly.

A college licence starts at £2,760 per year and is based on the number of learners you wish to access CENTURY.
Subscription includes access to all resources, training and ongoing support. Costs vary according to college size, with multi-year and multi-college discounts available.
