A quick round-up of CENTURY’s features and feedback – New Assignments
Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

This year CENTURY has launched several new features alongside some important updates to existing functionality. Here’s a quick round-up of the updates to our Assignments feature and some of the positive feedback we’ve received from teachers and educators.
Staff and students have always liked the clear deadline associated with Assignments and that it sits separately to content in the Recommended Path. We wanted to build on this, making it easier to set work, edit and review results.
In July we released a brand new version of Assignments to a small cohort of users. Since then we have rolled it out to all users and have been continuously improving it since then. Recent updates include the ability to plan and assign work ahead of time using assignment start date, adding the option of accepting late submissions, and allowing multiple attempts.
In the original Assignments feature, teachers sometimes struggled to find the right nugget to set, so we have made it easier to be able to choose nuggets by first selecting a topic to narrow down your search.
“Can set assignments in advance which means planned cover can be set more easily rather than only in the moment (some students had a habit of completing work before the intended lesson). The strand option means that finding appropriate nuggets is also much easier – therefore for courses we have made to match our KS3 curriculum it’s easy to set the strand for the whole year group in one go.” Teacher at UK Secondary School
“Love the new layout! Much easier to navigate!” Teacher at UK Alternative Provision
“Much easier to use and gives me the ability to set the task for a set day and time, which makes my planning easier.” Head of Science at UK Prep School
We’re so pleased this feature is achieving its aim of streamlining the process of setting work on CENTURY.
