We are often asked ‘How does CENTURY’s AI work?’ In this blog, we’re going to go behind the scenes of CENTURY’s AI and look at how it generates recommendations for learners as well as the benefits and finally how schools and colleges harness the power of AI:

How does CENTURY’s AI generate recommendations?

At CENTURY, we capture how students interact with nuggets (micro-lessons) in a variety of different ways.

These interactions along with a cutting-edge Knowledge Tracing model inform our recommendation engine. This means we can be confident that the nugget recommended to a learner is matched to their abilities, whether it’s reinforcing previously acquired knowledge or providing further challenge within a topic. This will be recommended to students in the form of Focus on to Improve and Stretch With nuggets.

All this information allows us to personalise students’ learning and provides teachers with actionable insights to support them in tailoring their teaching moving forward.

What are the benefits of CENTURY’s AI?

  • Personalised learning
The Recommended Path will constantly adapt based on your students’ current level and learning needs. This means they will always be challenged appropriately, ensuring steady progress and engagement.
  • Supporting teachers with real time data:
The Teacher Dashboard supports you by providing real-time data on your students’ performance, allowing you to quickly identify who might need additional help or more challenging material.
  • Encouraging student agency
The Student Dashboard allows your students to access data on their progress, empowering them to take charge of their learning.

How do schools and colleges use our AI?

West Suffolk College shared their approach to using CENTURY during a Maths Practitioners Networking Event. The college uses CENTURY’s personalised learning pathways to prepare students for Maths GCSE November resit exams, ensuring limited teaching time is maximised. Meanwhile, Northampton School for Girls like the adaptive nature of the platform and how it caters to the strengths and areas for improvement of every single student.
