Empowering learning: inside Inspired AI’s innovative educational approach
Estimated reading time: 3 minutes
During a recent engaging virtual session, Inspired Schools and CENTURY Tech came together to demystify their groundbreaking AI-powered learning platform. Led by Joana Simas, Global Head of EdTech Implementation, the meeting brought together educational leaders from King’s College Alicante, King’s College The Bahamas, and St George’s International School, Montreux, alongside key members of the CENTURY Tech team to explore how technology can transform student learning. In attendance were parents and guardians across a range of Inspired schools, looking to understand how they can support their children’s learning.
Introduction
Joana set the stage by highlighting her early involvement with the platform. Her introduction emphasised Inspired AI’s core mission: creating personalised learning experiences that adapt to each student’s unique needs. She then played a video shared by Liz Stanley at British School of Bahrain featuring students sharing how CENTURY has benefitted them. This video was a great way of starting the session, reminding those present of the need to ensure that students always remain at the centre of our partnership.

Platform demonstration
Mark McHugh from CENTURY Tech then took participants through a comprehensive platform demonstration. He showcased how the AI dynamically creates personalised learning pathways, allowing students to focus on topics to support or stretch them. He also shared the key ways that parents and guardians could support and monitor their children’s learning.
The science behind the platform
The session’s most compelling segment came from Alice Little, Head of Neuroscience at CENTURY Tech. Her deep dive into cognitive load theory and the testing effect demonstrated the science behind the platform’s design. She was also keen to draw the distinction between generative AI’s large language models and the type of machine learning models used by the platform. CENTURY uses AI to recognise patterns in learning behaviour and adapt the materials the student studies next. Finally, she explained how the platform has integrated elements of metacognition, enabling students to better understand how they learn.
Q&A session with parents
School leaders Matteo Rossetti, Lindsey Robertson and Ruth Norris then responded to parents’ questions, offering crucial perspectives for how to embed the platform into teaching and learning. They addressed common parental concerns about screen time, unanimously agreeing that meaningful, structured digital learning is vastly different from unfocused screen usage.
Ruth responded to parents’ potential fears that AI could jeopardise learning by emphasising Alice’s earlier points about the efficacy of the platform’s design and the interactivity between the questioning techniques that help students to develop their thinking skills. She finished up by stating that the platform is used to enhance, rather than replace, traditional teaching methods. Their testimonials highlighted the tangible benefits of the platform: improved student confidence, independent learning skills, and academic performance whilst Lindsey’s closing comments underlined how the platform has allowed students to take ownership of the learning.
Session close
Charles Wood from CENTURY Tech summed up by sharing the company’s approach which prioritises educational outcomes and the fact that technology should augment, not replace, excellent teaching.
For parents and educators, the session offered a transparent, research-backed glimpse into the future of personalised learning – where technology is a supportive partner in each student’s unique educational journey.
