When a school or college joins CENTURY, they are matched to an Account Manager who supports with onboarding learners and staff. Online training is generally delivered to staff to make sure they are confident setting work on the platform as well as tracking student progress. Account managers are also extremely happy to visit schools or colleges later in their CENTURY journey to see how they are getting on and to ensure they are getting the most out of the platform. Other reasons why a school or college might want to organise an in-person session is to:

  • Review usage of the platform
  • Expand use of the platform into other departments
  • Increase staff confidence using the platform
  • Launch the platform with parents
  • Train staff (and governors)
  • Share best practice across schools

Here are some quotes from staff who have recently welcomed the CENTURY team into their organisation:

Dominic Simpson, Headteacher at Tenterfields Primary Academy, Halesowen

“It was fantastic to welcome Laura from CENTURY into school to launch the Guardian Portal with parents. The approach and knowledge that Laura took, ensured parents were supported and when the children joined the workshop to share their learning, Laura was able to go around answering any questions raised.

It was an invaluable session and much more productive and tailored to our school needs than if we had undertaken this on a Teams call.

I am looking forward to welcoming Laura back once we have the project up and running.”

Parents at Tenterfields Primary learning about CENTURY's impact

Naomi Prutton, Headteacher at Springhead Primary, East Yorkshire

“Our school had been using CENTURY for several years, but we realised we weren’t maximizing its full potential. I reached out to their support team, who offered both online and in-person training options. Fortunately, our local CENTURY representative, Laura, was incredibly accommodating to our school’s needs. She visited us in person to provide comprehensive training for both staff and governors, ensuring everyone understood the full capabilities of the platform. As a result, our school’s use of CENTURY increased significantly, with staff feeling much more confident in assigning nuggets and integrating the platform into whole-class activities.”

Joanne Rumney, Head of Division Maths and English at Nelson and Colne College, Barrowford

CENTURY recently agreed to come into the college to deliver face-to-face training to both the English and maths team and a further session for representatives from a wide range of curriculum areas. Whilst we have been using the platform for a number of years now, this training really helped us to review how we can get the most from the platform to best support our learners’ progress in English and maths – in addition to exploring wider usage for other curriculum areas.

Staff really valued and benefitted from the opportunity to ask specific questions to improve their understanding. They gained confidence in using the platform and interpreting the progress data it provides. We are now looking forward to planning further face-to-face training with support from the CENTURY team to further develop our practice and get the best from the platform in preparation for the new academic year.”

Steve Connell, Assistant Principal at Leeds College of Building

“Leeds College of Building originally started to use CENTURY as a diagnostic tool to initially assess students in maths and English. Over the last couple of years, its usage across all areas of the college has increased significantly and we now use it to individualise learning for students who study GCSE maths and English, but also for a wider student audience. It is used to increase students’ digital skills and for embedding numeracy in construction for students who have already achieved a grade 4 or above.

The support we receive from Ollie and his team is excellent and a recent face-to-face training session was well received by staff within the college. It has helped them understand some of the wider capabilities of CENTURY, such as reporting functions. We know if there’s anything we need we can just pick up the phone and Ollie will support us, and we are looking forward to furthering staff training later in the academic year.”

Ollie Bailey, Account Manager at CENTURY Tech

“Getting out and seeing our partner schools and colleges is one of the best parts of working at CENTURY Tech. It’s so wonderful seeing the platform being used live, gathering feedback, and hearing about the impact that CENTURY is having. We find that delivering a training in-person is always more impactful and we get to really dig into the platform together and talk about how our other partner schools and colleges are best using the platform.”
