Teachers from E-ACT's Reedswood Primary and CENTURY's Taryn Davison and Sophie Potter present the AI-powered teaching and learning platform at the E-ACT Primary Summit

During the E-ACT Primary Summit 2025, focussed on adaptive teaching, Sophie Potter and Taryn Davison from CENTURY presented alongside Belal Hussain and Lewis Peatroy from Reedswood Primary Academy. They shared their experiences of using the CENTURY platform over the past month. Their discussion highlighted the significant benefits of the AI-driven platform in reducing teacher workload, improving student outcomes, and fostering student ownership of learning.

Sophie opened the session by introducing the platform, explaining how CENTURY personalises learning for students, empowers teachers with detailed data, and encourages student independence. She then handed over to Lewis to share his experience using the platform at Reesewood Primary.

TeacherGENie uses

Lewis focused on the TeacherGENie tool, which generates differentiated worksheets in seconds. This significantly reduced the time he spent preparing resources and allowed him to use the platform for knowledge checks, formative assessment, and pre-teaching. He explained how CENTURY enabled him to adapt his teaching based on real-time data, helping students reinforce prior learning and address misconceptions effectively.

Using CENTURY for interventions

Belal then discussed how he used CENTURY for SEND interventions. He found the diagnostic tests particularly useful in identifying gaps in students’ knowledge and personalising their learning pathways. The platform’s interactive elements, such as videos and structured exercises, provided valuable support for SEND students, giving them confidence and ownership over their learning. He also highlighted how students began independently accessing additional learning nuggets, demonstrating their engagement and motivation. Over three weeks, students answered 1,852 questions, completed 22 diagnostic assessments, and engaged with 220 learning nuggets. The automated marking and real-time data insights significantly reduced teacher workload and facilitated targeted interventions.

Using CENTURY’s dashboard and benchmarking data

Taryn then shared insights from her experience working with another school in a deprived area. She explained how CENTURY’s diagnostic data allowed her to quickly identify class-wide gaps, such as difficulties with tenths, and implement targeted teaching strategies. By assigning relevant learning nuggets before starting a new unit, she was able to proactively address gaps, ensuring students were better prepared for future lessons. During lessons, she used CENTURY’s live data to identify struggling students in real-time, allowing for immediate intervention and support. She also demonstrated how CENTURY’s benchmarking feature helped compare student progress with similar schools, confirming its effectiveness.

Throughout the session, all speakers emphasised how CENTURY has streamlined their workflow, improved student engagement, and fostered greater independence in learning. By leveraging CENTURY’s data-driven insights, teachers can ensure their lessons are more efficient, impactful, and tailored to student needs, ultimately enhancing both teaching and learning experiences.
